THE SEPTEMBER BLUES

A poem.
Time, where did you go?
My friend and sometimes my foe
On lazy days is when I love you most
To remind that there's time to spare
To sleep, to laugh, to stay completely still
But on the days where I feel the most exuberant, the most free
Moments that I wish I could thrive in forever,
You never seem to stop
You're too eager to keep ticking by,
So sneaky and clever sometimes I never notice that you are gone
It's when I'm feeling so anxious and I can barely see,
My head full of discerning thoughts that I feel so dizzy,
That you never seem to move,
Every time I look at you, at your hands on the clock that seem to slow down each time I steal a glance,
It's like the seconds become minutes,
Unbearable
Though I never want to give you up
I will always want more of you.
Because without you,
Time,
I would cease to exist
