IF I FALL

It's hard to handle life

When someone believes

That all your truths...are lies

"Tell me to leave" you taunt angrily, "Tell me you don't want me...and i'll go"

(I stare at you

And I weigh the options in my head

You were the person who turned my world on its head, made me doubt everything I thought I knew, made me question what I wanted out of life

My family couldn't even look at me

My friends would whisper when I walked past them in the hall

Everywhere I looked I would get silent glances of judgement

But maybe the worst of all is how I felt about myself

Who was I?

Then I thought about the times you've made me laugh

Made me feel like I was floating on a cloud

I know I would miss you)

"I...can't" I finally blurt out

And you smile

I messed up again

That's what you want to hear right?

That I'm a screw up who can't get anything right

You are right that it is my fault---all of it--- this time

I won't deny that becuase I know how much I've hurt you

Hurt us

But it's your fault too

Cause one thing I never did was lie

You knew always knew me for who I was

You were the one who thought you could fix me

But the truth is

You fell in love with the monster

I look at you and I want you more than you'll ever know

And i'll ever tell

But when I see you with him, it breaks my heart

Though there's something I've noticed

When he hugs you in front of me

It's like a part of him know how I feel

His arms like a shield, protecting you from me

Maybe that gives me hope somehow

That he knows deep down...

You feel the same

Let's not speak

Just pretend like everything is fine

Even though we both know

It will never last

Hold my hand

Because the stars are falling

And the world is tearing at our feet

Everything we know is lost

So hold my hand, and try not to let go
