BAGGAGE CLAIM

A spoken word.
Burdens we all have to carry through
Make sure baggage claim doesn't stop you on your way out
We all have them, is my load bigger than yours?
Is his?
Cause he's been dealing on the streets but the money that he's using ain't supplying a mouth to feed
He's drowing on the outside and on the in
But those people around him tell him he's
"Just a teen. Just acting up"
Get up. Be tough. Suck it up.
But these are feelings that you can't suppress.
That you can't wrap in a little bow.
And hers?
She lives with two children, two responsibilities
But how do you move on from live's greatest tradgedies
Give up?
You promised to spend your lives together. Forever
But now that forever isn't likely
Is this the fight or flight talking or are you just empty?
How bout' that little girl on the train?
Where is she going, what's her last stop?
Her life has been one long ride
Filled with lost hope, crushed dreams, low self-esteem
And the boy cleaning the floors?
He's just trying to make a living, he knows it's degrading
But someone's gotta do it.
Then he goes home to an empty home, a head full of thoughts
Thinking "is this all there is?"
I now we all pass each other on the streets.
We don't socialize, we don't speak
Our motto, our unspoken word
"You don't know me, I don't know you"
It breaks us apart
When have our days become more about survivng?
Of zooming through 8 hour shifts, of dazzing our way out of school?
When did the world become
"Everyone fight for themselves?"
Here we are- we come by the thousands, the millions, the billions
Aren't we all built with the same parts, have hearts?
I see people on the news,
They suffer, you suffer, we suffer.
Are we all immune?
Burdens that we all carry through
But maybe if you want...
I could help you?
